Career paths...

I've got bosses who have a graduate degree in Engineering/ Technology, a PG in Design and YET another PG in Management. There are also now aiming to climb higher up the corporate ladder into strategic planning and one of them wants to do a Ph.D. (not sure in exactly what!) Why didn't they simply do a B.Sc and an MBA... faster track, eh?

Can't help but wonder if they know what they want to do with their lives... I've always been sure I wanted to do design. Architecture, M.Des, User Experience or Dance... I want to do good creative hands-on stuff. And in office I'm given incentives for a PM role... Isn't there a ascension path for Design? Can I not become Super Senior Design Consultant? Or Alpha Designer? Why do all paths lead to PM roles. Why is it the unlessI have a"Manager" tag in my mail signature people won't think of me as important?

I WANT TO DESIGN!
